What is an “Ultrasonic Facial?”
The Ultrasonic facial is a state-of-the-art, three-step skin renewal technology that deep cleans, minimizes the effects of photo-damage, diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles and makes your skin look and feel soft and smooth. This procedure is perfect for Age Management, Acne Management, pre- and post- cosmetic procedures and for minimizing the adverse effects of chemotherapy and radiation.
Instead of cleaning the skin with steam and painful squeezing, as is done with traditional “spa” facials, the “ultrasonic facial” uses safe, low frequency ultrasound energy (cavitation) and water to gently exfoliate 10%-35% of the skin’s top layers and pulls debris up from beneath the skin’s surface – out of each and every pore on the face. This opens pathways into which vital nutrients – antioxidants, peptides and moisturizing factors - are then penetrated (sonophoreses). The application of ultrasound increases product penetration by 6000%! The skin cells are actually “fed” nutrients they are lacking, and the result is a reawakening your skins’ natural moisturizing and self-healing factors. The treatment “reminds” your skin cells how to “be healthy” and “reproduce!”
Then, using “Microcurrent Therapy” – an extremely low level electrical current, such as that found naturally in the body - the nourished cells are “charged,” increasing amino acid transport and protein synthesis; this stimulates increased production of collagen. The result is nothing less than spectacular - a rejuvenated complexion and ongoing skin improvements visible well beyond the treatment period!
What is “different” about a facial by Erica?
Erica does not offer a long, fluffy “menu of facials” because each treatment is “customized.” After talking with you and examining your skin, Erica will decide what solutions would best serve your goals. In addition, Erica’s treatments are affordable and comprehensive. The cost of Erica’s “ultrasonic facial,” for example, includes a fruit enzyme or light chemical peel. Traditionally, skin care establishments provide this treatment at “add on” cost. Erica includes this as part of her basic ultrasonic facials because she feels it is necessary to getting the job done right. In Boston or New York, this same service would be priced between $135 and $250. Erica’s price: $95. Advanced peels, however, which require several weeks of home preparation, are at extra cost. Advanced peeling, usually, needs to be a “stand alone” service and is best done in a series.
How Many Treatments will I need?
You will see results after just one treatment. Best results, however, require a commitment to home care and regular treatments every six weeks
